Countdown
It all began when Delfi decided to leave Argentina in pursuit of the ultimate, sun-drenched “European Experience.” Naturally, she envisioned effortless Mediterranean summers, espresso in historic piazzas, and hopping between Paris, Madrid and Rome. Instead, she applied for a job in Ireland, got hired on the spot, and before she could check a weather forecast realised she had almost made it to mainland Europe, only to settle in a windy island on the edge of the Atlantic.
Meanwhile, Conor had just moved back home to Leixlip, Co. Kildare after five years of living in Sweden, trading Scandinavian winters and flat-pack furniture for familiar Kildare rain.
There is an ancient East Asian legend called the Red Thread of Fate, which says that two people destined for one another are connected by an invisible red thread. It doesn’t matter if they are born on opposite sides of the world, or if the thread has to stretch and tangle its way from Buenos Aires to Luleå, and finally to a corporate office in Ireland. The thread may stretch, but it never breaks.
In a stroke of fate, Conor and Delfi walked through the doors of the same new company within three weeks of each other. What started as onboarding small talk quickly proved the theory right, and the rest is history.
Three days of celebrating. Please plan to be in Fasano by Wednesday 22 September so you don’t miss the welcome drinks. Exact times will follow closer to the date.

Fly into Bari or Brindisi; both are within an hour of Fasano. Renting a car makes day trips easy, and if you’d rather not drive, the train is simplest from Bari.
About 1 hour to Fasano
By car: take the SS16 south towards Brindisi and leave at the Fasano exit. No tolls.
By train: the airport train runs to Bari Centrale in about 20 minutes. Change there for a regional train south to Fasano, around 45 minutes.
About 45 minutes to Fasano
By car: head north on the SS379 and follow signs for Fasano. No tolls.
By train: take a bus or taxi to Brindisi station (about 10 minutes), then a regional train to Fasano, around 30 minutes.
Dublin → Brindisi: flights on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, returning on Saturdays and Tuesdays.
Dublin → Bari: flights on Mondays and Wednesdays, returning on Mondays.
Via Milan: another good option is to fly to Milan and take a direct flight from there to Brindisi or Bari.
Days can change, so check with the airline before booking.
Car hire desks are in both arrivals halls; automatics sell out, so book early. Fasano station is a few kilometres outside town, so plan on a short taxi to the centre.
Stay in Fasano town on the nights of 22 and 23 September.
That way everyone’s together for the welcome drinks, and you’re a short walk from the wedding shuttle.
On Thursday afternoon, free shuttles leave from Parco della Rimembranza in the centre of Fasano and take you straight to Masseria Alchimia, about 10 minutes away. Shuttles bring everyone back to town late in the evening.
Shuttle pick-up on Google MapsStaying somewhere else? You’re very welcome to; just make your own way to Parco della Rimembranza in time for the shuttle, or drive to the venue.

Make sure you don’t leave Puglia without trying the amazing local food. The most common are panzerotto, rustico leccese, taralli and puccia. If you have a sweet tooth, try a pasticciotto.
And finally, the amazing wine: Primitivo and Negroamaro are delish, but we’ll make sure you try those ones!
